    Jack,

I’m up for a minipalooza. I’ll record thoughts on Eraserhead sometime in the next few weeks (as you said it wouldn’t be for DP 100 or 101, so there’s time). You can through them out whenever you want.

  10. EssBee Says:

Yesterday’s Democracy Now! is terribly sad. It’s an interview (the last segment is, anyway) with the parents of LaVena Johnson, a soldier who died in Iraq. Her parents were told that she committed suicide, but they allege that she was raped and murdered. It’s awful.

  11. The Energizer Bunny Says:

    Morning Pan!

Well, I survived both my in-laws and my boss being in town. All left yesterday so life should be back to normal.

  12. The Energizer Bunny Says:

On the up side, my husband and I exchanged our anniversary gifts a week early so I have a new toy. He gave me an iPod Touch. Very cool! :)

  37. The Energizer Bunny Says:

My kitty kat is driving me insane. Since I’ve been at the office for the last couple of days (boss in town) I haven’t been at home to brush her twenty times a day. Also she doesn’t like strangers and my inlaws stayed with us while they were in town.

Now she’s all cuddly and constantly pawing at me for attention. Hard to get any work done with a cute kitty looking for lovin.

  38. The Energizer Bunny Says:

On another up note: When my boss was out here, she said I wasn’t taking enough holiday time. Now I have to take at least one more week, preferably two, because they won’t carry all of them over to next year.

I have a hard enough time taking the holidays I have, without finding where to add more.

    So dumb conversation for today.

“So what do you usually use your phone for?”

    “Talking”

“Then you don’t need an iPhone”

At this point I began to think they must think I’m an idiot (what else would you use a phone for).

LOL. Modesty doesn’t suit you my love

Hugh sez: Ok, what if I said- Of course I am sexy and hot as I am. I don’t have to try, but when dealing with women, you have to make them think you care. But I don’t fucking care.

The wife and I just got back from “The Dark Knight”. It was……ok. I think the thing has been greatly overhyped. It was too long. And I have nothing against a long running movie, but this one just dragged out, both in the overall plot and in the editing of the various scenes.

Heath Ledger did an interesting portrayal as the Joker, but I found it really hard to get into it as they made a clearly deliberate choice to give him no background. He was simply an agent of chaos dropped onto Gotham to stir up trouble.

While not nearly as bad as Crystal Skull, I don’t think this was as good a Iron Man in considering Summer movies. I also find it really hard to justify this being IMDB’s number 1 rated movie of all time.

    YMMV.

  305. The Smarty Hotties® Says:

    morning pan!

[minor spoilers for those who haven't seen Batman yet]

We saw Batman last night. LOVED it!

I know it got some ho-hums from some of you, and some people I talked to, but that was Batman how we like it.

I know when Batman started it was silly and cheesy and Bruce Wayne was perfectly well adjusted and it was kinda goofy really. That Batman is ok, I mean we have been getting those Batman Chronicles graphic novels as they come out (they are printig in order every Batman appearance since the beginning of Batman time in graphic novel form- its wicked cool)

But the Batman we really love is the dark, tortured with a side order of psychotic please. The Joker was perfect! That little tongue flick he gave the character was inspired and I just think he did an exellent job. Nicholsons joker was ok, he was goofy and funny. But this Joker was fucking insane.. which the Joker was. The Joker was psychotic. He killed cause he loved to kill, he didnt care about what he got. He enjoyed the chase and getting into Batmans head. He loved fucking with Batman and watching Batman being driven nuts chasing him.

Thats the Batman universe as I like to see it. I think there is a place for the candy colored, silly, goofy version of the Batman world and we enjoy that too, but this dark, dirty, psychotic, version was perfect.

Hugh sez: and they filmed a whole bunch at my work

Yeah! Chicago looked awesome as Gotham!! I loved the CTA (Chicago Transit Authority) bus that they changed the C ot a G very cute :)
But they filmed on top of the Chicago Board of Trade several times. That whole financial district area with the Board of Trade in the middle.

Hugh sez: you mean Chicago Mercantile Exchange now :)

Bah! whatever! It will always be CBOT to me. They were all over dowtown in that movie. The hospital they blew up was on the south side of the city.

  319. Vanamonde Says:

So cinema was quiet, enjoyed the movie but agree about Batman’s voice.

  320. ditto Says:

I know the voice was unpopular, but I rewatched Batman Begins on the same day I saw TDK and found it was pretty consistent between the two. They might have done something better, but to be realistic, Batman *had* to disguise his voice somehow.

  321. ditto Says:

Just finished reading “Soon I Will Be Invincible” by Grossman. Highly recommended.

  322. Vanamonde Says:

I’ve only seen Batman Begins once (when I saw it at the cinema) so my memory of the movie is vague at best. Will have to dig out the DVD when I’ve got the time.

Oh and according to my watch the running time for Dark Knight (well till the credits roll) was 2 hours 18 minutes, so not quite in the same league as the LOTR movies.

  333. JohnBoze Says:

I read at Backseat Producers that MTV plans to remake “Rocky Horror Picture Show” keeping only the screenplay and writing all new music.

How do you remake a movie based on a stage musical and not use the original score???

  334. JohnBoze Says:

Okay, after looking at several other sources, it looks like original score is staying, but may be supplemented by all-new songs as well..

  335. Dubshack Says:

Saw X-Files: I Want to Believe yesterday. More like “I Want my money back” or “I want to believe Chris Carter can make a scarier movie than a gay Russian abducting women and harvesting their body parts to keep his lover alive, who happens to have once been the alter boy victim of the priest he has a psychic connection to that the FBI are using to find them”

Yeah I just spoiled the whole movie but honestly beyond a few good jokes on David Duchovney’s behalf and what I’m certain must have been a scene accidentally inserted from the gag reel (in which Mulder’s car is being pushed over a cliff and Mulder is desperatly trying to decide whether to call “Dana” or “Gillian” on his cell phone) the movie is pretty much pointless. Other than getting a sense of what Mulder and Scully are as lovers and the fact that they’ve just been together in hiding for six years and Scully’s a doctor on a Catholic hospital… You really get no sense of their relationship ever having moved anywhere, in fact their coupling comes across just as bizzare as it did when they revealed it and failed to explain it in the final two seasons of the show.

So other than being able to see just how old David Duchovney and Gillian Anderson have really gotten, or see a really amazingly done joke about George Bush, I’d wait for DVD on this one kids. And even then I’d Netflix it, or BT it even. I actually had to apologize to my wife for making her watch six season of the show (we only got that far before the movie came out, we were going for ninee) and then watch a shitty movie. I was really expecting this one to be good, but wow, it just went nowhere.

  336. ditto Says:

Yeah, I never intended to watch that film.

  337. Rhettro Says:

Same here. I watched X-Files from the first season and one season past the first movie, but after that Carter just lost focus. Much like some other shows that out stayed their welcome and die violent deaths (i.e. Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley, Moon Lighting etc.) X-Files didn’t know how to bow out gracefully. There should have been a sense of closure brought to the uneven season ender, but they took too much time and now it just doesn’t matter. I may end up renting it on Netflix but that’s it.

  338. ditto Says:

I stopped watching X-Files right after the dreadful personality swapping episode aired. That cliche is pretty much the kiss of death imo: it means the writers are out of ideas. I tried watching a few episodes after that point but couldn’t get into it anymore, especially after the new cast was introduced.

When I heard they were going to make a new movie, my reaction was basically ‘meh’. I would only watch it if everyone swore it was a great movie. From Dub’s wonderful reaction… I think I’d rather be forced to watch Spider-Man 3 repeatedly.

  339. jackmangan Says:

“The truth is over the shark”.

Thanks for the warning, Dub. I never watched the TV series, really enjoyed the first film, had almost zero interest in seeing this new one.

    Moon Patrol rocked.

  340. Vanamonde Says:

So the Martha Wainwright gig was good but boy was she off her rocker or at least acting like she was.

  341. Vanamonde Says:

She seemed so ‘normal’ seven years ago.

  342. jackmangan Says:

Van, I’d so go see Martha live. I agree — she does seem to have some issues….. What nutty things did she do?
Did she do “Bloody Mother Fuckin Asshole”?

I think I’m a bigger fan of her brother Rufus. (Yes, you can be straight and appreciate Rufus Wainwright)

  343. Vanamonde Says:

Nope on the song, just the way she was talking between songs and interacting with the audience.

Good gig anyway, Rufus is on my to do list for seeing him performing live.

Still think their Dad is better though (LW3).

  540. Trucker Overdrive Says:

I saw the Batman movie and was impressed. I had no desire to see the X-Files movie. I saw the first one back when they were in their prime and was nonplussed. It was cutting edge television back in the mid-1990s. In the late 80s Twin Peaks was cutting edge television. I don’t feel like either show they dated particularly well. It is interesting to see Jack Black and Giovanni in the TV show together when there are both playing teenagers still.

Ironman was an okay movie. I do think that Batman will stand up as a work of cinema. Iron Man will be replaced by some better special effects even though Robert Downey Jr. did a great job acting. It just wasn’t as impressive as Heath Ledger. Personally I felt the best acting job was Matthew Lillard as shaggy in the first Scooby Doo movie. That was an impressive job acting. You can’t give an Academy award for that sadly.

I mean like wow someone has actually wanted to go back and listen to all of the back episodes just to sit back and listen to the stuff that I have pulled together. I think I may need to switch to decaf. This has been such weird morning considering all the stuff that has been going on. The Pulling of Wander Radio from the darkness of obscurity wait who the hell am I kidding Wander Radio is destined to be obscure just do to the fact that there is no niche market that I truly focus on, but then again what one person can just listen to one type of program and how in the hell are you going to know whether or not you’re going like something else if you are never given the opportunity to give it a try, I mean who can live on just audio dramas or just one type of music there is so much good content out there that is available for free. Like wow podcasting is how I found Brad Sucks and the Brobdingnagian Bards the Fump (I have been playing Fump music since their inception) There are also many great authors that really don’t understand the power of the internet yet.

  605. Rhettro Says:

Actually, that should have been CPIMM: “Currently playing in my mind”

JJ inspired me with his CP: LOL

  606. EssBee Says:

And now it’s CPIMM. Thank you very much.

(not really. Just trying to remember the worst possible crappy 80s rock song)

  615. EssBee Says:

I saw Warrant live once. They opened for Motley Crue at McNichols arena in Denver. Lord have mercy, that was like 400 years ago.

CP: Hide and Seek – The Brian Jonestown Massacre

    Def Leppard
    Kiss
    Bullet Boys
Mamas Boys (am I detecting a pattern here?)
    Cinderella
Winger (yeah, yeah make your fun, but it was a good show)
I’m sure there had to be others. LOL

  621. Rhettro Says:

Worst hair metal song evar? I nominate FireHouse’s “Baby, Don’t Treat Me Bad.” Yee-ouch!

  622. EssBee Says:

That’s my jam band/New Orleans funk side

  624. EssBee Says:

And a bunch of others, including some New Orleans JazzFests. But I saw the Dead too many times, and my memory is for shit.

  625. wndrwolf Says:

EssBee No worries it was probably in the air at those Dead concerts ;)

  627. Rhettro Says:

Am I the only Deadpanite to make up dirty lyrics for the Boston song “Amanda?”

  628. wndrwolf Says:

Rhettro – No you are not the only dirty old man here…

  629. EssBee Says:

    ooh, let’s hear em!

  630. Rhettro Says:

“Im gonna take you by surprise and make you realize,
    Amanda
Im gonna tell you right away, I cant wait another day,
    Amanda
Im gonna say it like a man and make you understand
    Amanda
    I love you”

Oh it’s too easy. Above are the line just begging to be bastardized. I think I see justa joe sweating.

  631. EssBee Says:

    See it now!

  632. EssBee Says:

CP: Killing the Blues – Robert Plant and Alison Krauss

  633. jackmangan Says:

It’d be tough to name all the bands I’ve seen live….. so instead, the hokiest bands I’ve seen:

    Whitesnake (with Great White opening)
Scorpions (with Great White opening again – ack. . . Aldo Nova also did a set at that show)
Electric Angels (omg, they were terrible)
Steve Harris’s daughter’s set didn’t sound too impressive. Rhett and I were in the t-shirt line the entire time.
Guns N Roses – saw them with Metallica.
    A friend’s band once opened for W.A.S.P.
Hmm, there have got to be others.

  634. EssBee Says:

    CP: Ashes – Ben Harper

Oh, and also went to see the Jackson Victory Tour when I was in 8th grade.

  635. justa J0e Says:

    Holy Subliminal message Batman!

I can’t tell you when the last time I heard this song was … but I guess that all this coverage of the Earthquake in L.A. has triggered some synapsis.

    CPIMM: “Aenemia” – Tool

  636. EssBee Says:

    CP: Blood – Pearl Jam

  637. justa J0e Says:

    “Learn to Swim”

“Im gonna take you by surprise open up those thighs,
    Amanda
It doesn’t mean your gay, If you take it the same way,
    A man does
If you’ll take it like a man and then your going to understand
    Amanda
    Behind you”

  639. justa J0e Says:

well if nothing else, that cleared my CPIMM buffer

  640. EssBee Says:

OMG! That was shocking, hilarious, and a little exciting.

  641. justa J0e Says:

hmmmm … that’s what my dates usually write in the comment card I send them home with them.

  642. justa J0e Says:

… that, and “What kind of geek asks his date to fill out a comment card?”

  643. EssBee Says:

A comment card is a fantastic idea. I don’t know why I never thought of that. Is it essay-based? Or scantron?

  644. jackmangan Says:

Ironic, J0e, that you went from Aenima to that re-interpretation of Amanda.

  645. Rhettro Says:

jOE – Well done sir, you did not dissappoint. :)

  646. justa J0e Says:

    It’s a “On a scale from 1 to 5, 5 being best, How would you rate …”
With a section to write general impressions, areas of concern and suggestions.

CP: “Telephone Book” – Violent Femmes

  647. justa J0e Says:

Rhet – no fair. you snuck up on me. Given a few hours I could have done something clever. Given a few days I could have gotten distracted by other things and never gotten around to it, thus letting us avoid this whole unpleasant incident. ;)

CP: “Mr. Bitterness” – Soul Coughing

  648. EssBee Says:

    “areas of concern”!!

CP: Come On In To My Kitchen – Willie Nelson

  649. justa J0e Says:

Jack – “I AM IRON-IC MAN” Doh DA Doh DA DA, DADA DADA DADA DA DA Da Da

(boy … that doesn’t work at all does it?)

  650. justa J0e Says:

“areas of concern” seemed so much more eloquent then “What can I do to reduce the terrified screaming?”

CP: “Race Car Ya-Ya” – Cake

  651. EssBee Says:

“would you hire this date again?”

CP: Closet Romantic – Damon Albern

  652. justa J0e Says:

  655. EssBee Says:

CP: Lonely Years – John Mayall

  656. justa J0e Says:

CP: “King of Kings” – House Of Freaks

So I got to see the season opener of “Mad Men” last night. I WON’T give any spoilers here but I will say I didn’t think it was their strongest effort. Still, I was left wanting to see more so I guess they met their objective.

I’m just not sure that if it had been my first viewing of the show, it would have been enough to hook me.

  657. EssBee Says:

CP: Livin’ In The Future – Bruce Springsteen

  658. EssBee Says:

    CP: Migra – Santana

  659. EssBee Says:

    CP: Magic – Bruce Springsteen

  660. EssBee Says:

CP: Transformer Man – Neil Young

  661. EssBee Says:

JOe, I took everyone’s advice and picked up some of Season 1 on iTunes last night. Now just to find time to watch it in the evenings.

One show that I watch, but am losing interest in for lots of reasons is Weeds on Showtime. Yet I still keep watching — why is that?

  662. EssBee Says:

CP: I Will Run To You – Stevie Nicks

  663. Jeremy from Seattle Says:

CP: Holding Hands in the Shower – Natalie Portman’s Shaved Head

  664. justa J0e Says:

    Hmmmm ….
Maybe it’s like any long term relationship where the spark has cooled.
You hang in there because you know it. It’s familure, you have it’s back story, moving on means finding something else … and your always holding out hope that what once attracted you so much to it will return.

… um, what were we discussing?

    CP: “Control” – Traci Lords

  665. EssBee Says:

CP: Cry Baby Cry – The Beatles

  666. justa J0e Says:

Traci wants to kiss it and make it better.

    I want to let her.

  667. EssBee Says:

One thing I am really enjoying is rewatching LOST on DVD. I got the first 3 seasons, and am really having a good time with them.

CP: Get a Job – The Greyboy Allstars

  668. justa J0e Says:

Has anyone here run across any wall mountable, wooden storage units for Hi8/Digital8 video tape?

  669. justa J0e Says:

It was hard to type past the word “mountable” while Traci is singing to me.

  670. EssBee Says:

    Traci has a CD?

  671. justa J0e Says:

    huh hhuh huh

    I typed “Hard”.

  672. justa J0e Says:

CP: “This Love” – Maroon 5

Someone remind me to remove that Traci Lords song from my play list. It makes me stupid.

  673. EssBee Says:

CP: Midnight in Her Eyes – The Black Keys

  674. justa J0e Says:

EssBee – Yep. Although … I think I would go the “individual track” route with her. (wow is THAT open for inturpretation!).
I’m not so sure her voice holds up without the techno-mix effects.
Still, give “control” a listen when your in that sort of mood. Use headphones. mmmmmmm

CP: “Lie in our graves” – Dave Mathews

  675. EssBee Says:

    “That” sort of mood. Hmm.

    CP: Someday – Los Lobos

  676. justa J0e Says:

CP: “If you were in my Movie” – Susan Vega (putting me back in THAT mode)

  677. EssBee Says:

CP: Judy Is A Punk – The Ramones

  678. EssBee Says:

CP: Red Dust – Iron And Wine

  679. jackmangan Says:

Control is a good tune. Kinda generic 90s techno.

Talented girl, that Traci Lords. Did she ever do anything else in media?

  680. Rhettro Says:

Does Traci Lords’ music have the same gravitas as music from Dale Bozzio, Samatha Fox or Wendy O Williams?

  681. Amy Bowen Says:

WNDRWolf: I associate “TDK” with cassette tapes, too.

TSH: Congratulations! My family is in the process of selling their house, too.

  682. Amy Bowen Says:

    Amy Bowen’s Earthquake Report

Yes, I could feel the LA-area earthquake today. I was in the kitchen, helping my mom pack stuff. It surprised us all, and it went on for a long time, too – between 10 and 20 seconds, I think. I got scared and ducked out the sliding glass door to the backyard. You could feel the ground rolling. Very disconcerting, but also kind of cool on some leve.

  683. Rhettro Says:

Jack, I’m pretty sure Traci Lords had a stint as a television actress. Wasn’t she in Stephen King’s “The Tommyknockers”.

    That’s “Tommyknockers.” One word.

  684. EssBee Says:

Scary, Amy! Did any of the stuff you were packing get broken?

  685. Rhettro Says:

Wow, Amy. Glad you’re okay. I’ve never experienced an earthquake.

  686. Amy Bowen Says:

EssBee: Not that we know of. At that point, we’d closed up all our boxes of breakable stuff and moved on to plastic and other stuff.

  687. Vanamonde Says:

I don’t know you go and work a shift and miss all the fun.

I still have a few TDK tapes with copied games on them, doubt they would still work after all this time, heck they were a bit dodgy when new.

  688. Amy Bowen Says:

+l (lowercase L) to the end of my report.

  689. EssBee Says:

    Welcome home, Van!

That’s great news, Amy! Stay safe.

Friends, I’m heading home for the evening. Have a good one!

  690. Vanamonde Says:

As to bands (or individual) I’ve seen performing live and much as I hate to give the impression I wear tweed and hold my ear, some follow:

Don Maclean (of American Pie and Vincent)
    Texas
Paul Young (post throat op sadly)
Belinda Carlisle (on the back end of her career)
    Cara Dillon
    Eric Bibb
    Loudon Wainwright III
    Martha Wainwright
    Kate Rusby
    Christine Collister
    Billy Bragg
    Richard Thompson
    Martyn Joseph
    Fairport Convention
    Steeleye Span
    Martin Simpson
    Dana and Susan Robinson
    Jez Lowe

    Lindisfarne

and a few more I’ve forgotten.

  691. Jeremy from Seattle Says:

    RE: Control

The album is essentially Juno Reactor featuring Traci Lords if I recall.

Has anyone heard Gillian Anderson’s techno song??

  692. Jeremy from Seattle Says:

  693. Vanamonde Says:

Oh and shout out to Jack, did you receive an email from me this week?

  694. jackmangan Says:

Got it, Van. . . Just wrote you back.

Amy, thanks for the earthquake report! Glad that it was nothing more than a little scary.

Maybe in the next TDK movie, Batman will face his dread nemesis: Memorex.

  695. WNDRWolf aka Master of Patience Says:

The puzzle pieces are going together nicely -
    Last call!

  696. justa J0e Says:

Wow. We’re talking about Traci Lords and AMY gets to feel the earth move.
    Go figure.

  697. justa J0e Says:

    RE: Alzheimer’s
There was an interesting “NOVA science Now” segment on recently in which they showed that what was probably happening with memory loss was NOT actual loss of memory but destruction of the neural pathways used to access the memories.

The REALLY neat part was that they showed that the brain could reestablish those connections itself (over time) simply by placing the subject in an environment where it had fun and stimulating social interaction.
This was shown with rats of course but they pointed out that this is something family members of elderly people have anecdotally claimed for some time.

They are currently working on medicine to trick the brain into producing the same chemicals it generates when you are hanging out with your best mates … however it seems to me that this is as good a justification as any for just having fun with your friends!

Work = shit storm today. I think this is karma for teasing Rhettro on Monday.

  767. Rhettro Says:

There are so many holes in his argument that it seems like a heap of nonsense to me.

I can understand why someone would be against gay marriage based on their religeous beliefs. In fact, I think the major bone of contention with offended parties is that they see the the government as redefining a sacred religious tradition. I know that in the Catholic church for instance, marraige is one of the sacrements. So in my opinion, government shouldn’t be dealing in marrages, but in civil unions for all.

As far as objections to gay couples given legal protections, I say get over it. People are going to couple as they see fit, with or without legal protection. It’s legal for people to drink and gamble in this country even though it is objectionable to some religions. As such religious objections alone shouldn’t be a basis of government law, especially when it concerns the conduct between consenting adults.

Okay, I’m off my soapbox now. :)

EssBee, I deserve all the teasing I get. You got no bad Karma from me. :)

  780. EssBee Says:

Wait, A.C. Clarke was a pedophile?

I have been worried about O.S. Card’s crap for a long time. “Worried” = sickened by. I had to stop, for the most part, listening to my favorite Browncoat podcasts because he is such a hero in those circles.

I learned a long time ago not to hero worship. I went to hear one of my favorite authors (Rudolfo Anaya) give a talk at my undergrad college, and he was a giant sphincter. He appeared, actually, to hate women. Since then, I don’t need to know the personalities of the authors I enjoy.

However, when I find out an author that everyone is telling me to read thinks that I am sub-human, I tend to steer clear. By the same token, when I find out a really cool person writes books, I buy them.

I do, however, have my limits on what I can know about the author while still allowing myself to enjoy his/her work. I’ve had this very conversation with a group of my feminist friends, and I always end up with the same decision: that there are way too many books out there to read for me to spend my $$ on Card’s given what I know about him as a person.

    Down that manhole of memories
When I realize it doesn’t bother me
    Like love’s mementos usually do
And I look up to see who’s different here
The latest me or the latest you

Course, you’re the kind of guy who doesn’t lie
    He just doctors everything
    Chooses some unassuming finger
And quietly moves his wedding ring
    Who rewrites his autobiography
For any pretty girl who’ll sing
But you can’t fool the queen, baby
    Cuz I married the king

And maybe it was I who betrayed his majesty
    With no opposite reality
Like a puddle with no reflection
Of the sky or the trees
    But after my dreaded beheading
I tied that sucker back on with a string
And I guess I’m pretty different now
    Considering

I kissed you on the street that night
On the far side of four
But I didn’t like the taste
    In my mouth or yours
And ignoring the persona you wore for my benefit
For once I had the balls to call it
    Just call it
But a lesson must be lived

JOe: I know what you mean. Combustion engines will never be very efficient sources of power. It’s impossible. This page will give you an idea, just ignore the formulas:

So, if we really want efficient transportation, we have to come up with something other than a combustion engine. It’s worked fine until now, but we are capable of making something better.

I think that’s what vexes me so. The US has this long history of embracing “problems” as an opportunity to flex our creative genius and (truth be said) turn the solution into a profitable capitalist venture.
Something has happened in the last few decades though. Now, instead of stoically facing problems head on, we strap on the blinders, cover our ears and shout loudly “Lalalala I can’t hear you lalalalala there is no problem lalalala STAY THE COURSE!”

We are capable of making something better (re: transportation) … but will we ever do so again?

Sometimes it isn’t that simple. Often there are a lot of new materials and technology that need to be invented, perfected, and productized before such revolutions can take place. Of course, the resistance to change hasn’t helped matters any.
