On one level:
Frickin’ Sweet!
On another level:
the disembodied hand sort of makes me feel dirty
http://www.audiocubes.com/product_info.php?products_id=2739
Partial quote from the wiki article everyone should appreciate:
Devo’s music and stage show mingle kitsch science fiction themes, deadpan surrealist humor, and mordantly satirical social commentary via sometimes-discordant pop songs that often feature unusual synthetic instrumentation and time signatures, and their work has proved hugely influential on subsequent popular music, particularly New Wave, industrial and alternative rock artists.
JohnBoze, sorry, that was supposed to be in response to your nipple.
And now, having read the article, I find my assessment to be derivative and somewhat lame…
I need chocolate.
Parenting solo again tonight, and with sick kids too!
I’m making chili w/ ground turkey tonight, it’s pretty basic heartland chili, I’m sure, compared to what some of you make…
Yes, there are beans.
JohnBoze: Oops, I apologize for using the word “nipple” to refer to my previous nipple in response to your nipple.
I know how some parents feel about nipples and having their children exposed…
Wait, do you do breast feeding? ’cause, if you do, I’m not going to apologize.
I’ll just sit back and be terribly impressed.
One of these days, I will learn to type faster.
Nope, Darcy is the one in charge of the breast feeding.
No nipple-revulsion round these parts.
Lejon, would that Vulcan USB be a logical drive?
I’ll get my coating.
Brown ground turkey, add onions, green bell pepper
Wow, I wonder what male cast member Dora’s map is secretly married to in Massachusetts?
Not that there’s anything wrong with that…
Crush in a fair amount of garlic cloves
Add 2 palmfuls (tablespoonish) oregano, two palmfuls chili powder, two palmfuls cocoa powder, and half a plamful cumin powder
I’m planning on making chili in a croc-pot Saturday. Never done it before. I too will use ground turkey. And beans. And things other than turkey and beans.
Here’s your coat, JB . . .
Still have a fever – 100.8 at last test. Ugh.
JohnBoze: Dora’s map? What’s wrong with her map? Bad cartographers?
Sly B has a Mexican meatloaf in the oven. Come on, appetite!
EssBee: If it makes you feel any better, 100.8 just makes it to an A+. Go to the head of the class.
Do you hang a Mexican meatloaf from the ceiling?
I might add this configuration is suitable for average three year olds, the chile heat has been pretty much omitted.
Let the spices comingle with the meat mixturefo a spell, then add 1 cup or so beef broth or boullion as available.
Yeah, Essbee, forgot to grab my coat on that last crack…
Let it all bubble merrily before adding one nice big can of diced tomatoes, get some more bubble-age on…
Yay!
Or . . .
Add a couple cans kidney beans, light or dark as you may, and your choice between draining the beans or adding their packing sauce. For kids I usually add the sauce, as it dilutes (and stretches) the recipe.
Welcome to the Deadpan infirmary.
How can a map have a sexual preference?
Bring back to a merry boil, then simmer a while. Pretty much ready to serve, or you can simmer covered a good long while, it’s pretty liquidy and extra simmerage won’t do any harm for flavor.
It could just be a marriage of convenience.
“Uh, hi, my name is Paul, and I’m never afraid to go for the cheap laugh…”
When I serve myself, I dose with a fair amount of smoked tabasco sauce, kids go for it straight up.
Well, sometimes…
If they are in the mood to eat at the moment…
John is Paul?
Ah, yes, Mister Null, welcome to the world of alternate identities.
JohnBoze is Paul Maki is ReallyBigThings (on Twitter)
And have played Warren Moore (Geek by Night), Javert Vidoq (Buffy Between the Lines Season One), and, possibly confusingly, John Mangan (Buffy Between the Lines Season Two).
As well as the little-known 5th James Bond, for one film between Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan.
And I believe my fellow Deadpanites are thoroughly aware I am completely full of shit.
And chili, at the moment.
OOOOOoooooooooh. I’m terrible at names, so I’m unsure how this will effect me.
Eh. I’ve never heard any of those other names (apart from Paul Maki, but I have no idea where I’ve heard that name), never heard of Geek By Night, and I never liked Buffy.
I’ll get my mouse.
Well, the Bond stint, yeah…
Really I thought audiences would be cool with that extended love scene with M…
Tee Morris can back me up on Dame Judi’s sex appeal… Tee?
Just trying to bait Tee into delurking, as though he was lurking the Pan to start with…
I remember I said something previously about me and baiting…
I want some of John Paul Boze Maki’s chili, please.
Pass the bowl.
Yes on the Tabasco for me.

Hello Cj, glad to see you panning.
Cj, I truly wish I could ftp a bowl right over.

Completely vegging out and turning my brain off for a while.
Lejon: I hadn’t thought of that. The AC button was off, but the former owner was a tinkerer, so that doesn’t nec. mean that it was actually off. I tend to forget the first rule of trouble-shooting: find the stupid.

I’m a bit of a downer, personality-wise, so it is best if I don’t say anything much at all, but I can say that we are thinking of you and your family. I don’t just me the several of me inside my head either.
I did mention that Opera Mini fully loaded the page, but then I usually cannot click buttons… like the submit comment one? Impressive and aggravating at the same.
Null: The Stolen Moon of Londor. Thumbs up or down so far? How’s the reading sitting with you?
JohnBoze: I did not recognize you as Warren. Huh.
Congratulations! LOL
I think I am caught up again.

Nomad Scry: Although I’m tiring a bit of Elves being in every story, I think it’s pretty well-written and I’m enjoying it. It gets bonus points for a slightly new take on some dwarves. I’m a touch worried how the story will end, given the bizarre plot, but so far, so good.
wndrwolf: actually being a wolf you might be looking for the squirrel…
hmm being food for your pray. guess a squirrel finding a nut the size of a wolf might be very happy squirrel.
maybe I need to stop over analyzing… on the other hand it can be funny…
WNDRWolf: Yeah, my job is brain-numbing enough that without something decent to listen to, I fear I would go postal.
Round-table about podcasts?
I’ll give it a listen, but I have a few shows in queue before you ;-)

Morning Pan!
Hubby had a late morning meeting today so we got to sleep in an extra hour. Must do that more often.
On a different note, I’m feeling very colour coordinated today. Every piece of clothing I have on is blue. Maybe not all the same shade, but still…
Hubby watched me dress this morning and asked why I was feeling down. He thinks he’s funny :)
Blue Bunny ICE CREAM!
I’ll listen to the episode, Wolf once I convince hubby to leave. .
Wolves are best experienced in private ;)
I had the abovementioned trouble of late with Opera Mini, unable to push “Submit Comment” button, but only recently, it worked well previously. Trying Android Browser Donut edition and so far so good if this post works…
Oh, and I point out to NS that I played Warren Moore AKA Muffin Man on Geek by Night, NOT Warren Meers on Buffy Between the Lines Season One. The latter show I was Javert Vidoq, the “Big Bad”…
TEB We all think we are funny just read the nipples… I know I THINK i’m funny and my mirror confirms it every day…
So JB, you’re pushing buttons for a working post? Woo Hoo!
Looks like Donut likes the Deadpan!
I think you’re funny every time you look into a mirror too, reaper
I think I’m having one of those days. I’m making stupid comments and just now, I tried to access a file on my work computer and was very confused when the mouse didn’t seem to work. Apparently the mouse attached to my home computer doesn’t operate the cursor on my work computer. Go figure.
Maybe sleeping in wasn’t such a good idea… Maybe it wasn’t enough… hmmm.
I’ve only had Blue Bunny once and was not impressed. But that was quite a while ago and I no longer remember why.
I used to really love the Godiva Black Raspberry but I had no self-control and always ate so much of it that I got sick. And then the supermarkets stopped carrying it. I guess I was the only one willing lose control that way…
CP: Phantom by Arnold Bennett
To be honest, I have no idea what you or Wolf are talking about Scry. I don’t think we get those flavours here. Or if we do, I never noticed.
Managed to kick hubby out of the house, now for some serious podcast listening.
Blue Bunny is a brand of ice cream. Godiva was a “brand” of … I think it was Eddys?
NS: Blue Bunny did suck for a while it was worse than great value but now (last 3maybe years) they pulled there heads our of there back sides and made good Ice cream. I’m going on my wife and kids say so because I don’t like most ice cream…
TEB: I knew I wasn’t the only one! guess now i’ll have to start looking for hidden cameras ;)
The sea is grey, the sky is grey, the ground is grey, but my coat is green.
Van just described an awesome day.
Only thing to make it better… blue sunglasses. Ah yeah!
I won’t be blending in today.
And reaper, I cannot associate with you any more. If you don’t love ice cream, then you must be a satanist. No… wait. I’m getting -something- mixed up here…
I’ve driven through LeMars, Iowa many times and the Blue Bunny plant is massive…
Van, as I said before, add a book, blanket, and cocoa…
mmmm. ice cream. I loves ice cream.
So I think I might be pushing my luck with Cj. I’ve sent her at least a half dozen e-cards in the last ten minutes. I’ll probably do more once I get some actual work done :)
I installed a personal wiki yesterday. Today I cut’n'pasted the terribly raw outline/rough draft of a short story into it.
And was blocked by the built-in spam filter.
?
After poking and prodding, it turns out that the Instiki wiki blocks the word “fucking”. I replaced it with “frogging” and continued on… Heh.
That’s frogging ridiculous, Scry

Time to head down and stop frogging about. Catch yall on the hop.
Ribbit.
I see hubby bought a G3 concert DVD while I was at MA last night. I guess I know what I’ll be listening to when I sew later today.
I’m very much enjoying the first two songs Wolf.
Although I’m not sure if this show falls under child labour guidelines
CP: Down From Ten: Episode 13
Oh really TEB?
Wow. The pan exploded last night. Sucks that I’ve been too busy to be around lately. :(
We missed you ditto.
Yeah, Wolf. Making your daughter do your work and all… :)

Brain, brain, what is brain?
NS- guess i should rephrase that. Ice Cream makes me sick so I don’t eat it… unless it is pumpkin… pumpkin is wort the stomach.
I cant eat chocolate either but that makes me so sick I can’t stand the smell any more (thanks Pavlov). My wife can’t use chocolate scented candles or lip gloss…
ditto, I thought YOU kept the brains. Uh oh.
I’m still home sick. Ugh.
EssBee, I think you are right, or at least I have a note to that effect. Too bad I can’t remember. Maybe I should check the closet?
